Converse debuts their Fall 2016 Counter Climate Collection on August 9, 2016 with the introduction of the Chuck Taylor II Shield Canvas. Chuck fanatics will be happy to learn that this updated version features a Nike Lunarlon sockliner for added comfort, paired with micro-suede interior lining and water-repellent Shield Canvas, allowing these shoes to withstand most climate challenges you’ll ever face.
The joy of the Chuck Taylor II is its simplicity. Converse took a century-old sneaker, undoubtedly the most iconic sneaker of all time, and modernized it by making it even more simple. They took away all the unnecessary elements and added Nike technology where it’s needed, comfort and utility. The Shield Canvas Chuck Taylor II doesn’t look like any of the rubber waterproof sneakers we’ve seen before. They’re clean, durable canvas and the waterproofing comes from the lava-colored neoprene style lining on the inside of the sneakers. Both the White / Lava and Black / Reflective pairs come with reflective barrel laces and heel webbing for added visibility in low light environments. The Black / Reflective version glows when light flashes the rain-inspired print on the canvas uppers.
